Your Questions, Answered

Psychotherapy

What happens in a Session?

Each session is unique. We begin by evaluating your current position, understanding your motivations and challenges. Then, together, we create a tailored plan that addresses areas for growth and supports you in reaching your therapeutic goals.

Sessions involve conversation and reflection, skill building, pattern recognition, and creating behavioural change through evidence-based practices.

This is a space to connect the dots, so you feel empowered in your journey.

What kind of therapy do you offer?

My approach is relational and grounded in psychodynamic principles.

This means we explore not just what’s happening now, but how earlier experiences and unconscious patterns may be shaping your life today. It’s a collaborative space that meets you where you are—offering reflection, insight, and steady support.

Will my insurance cover this work?

Many insurance providers cover psychotherapy, but coverage depends on your policy. Some providers require a referral letter, others don't. Ember invoices specify the nature of this work.

Feel free to reach out if you're unsure.

What if I feel resistance to this work?

It’s completely natural to feel resistance when stepping into something new—especially when it involves deep inner work. Healing isn’t about pushing through or forcing yourself forward; it’s about meeting yourself where you are with kindness.

If you’re feeling hesitation, we can explore it together. There’s no right or wrong way to begin—only a willingness to listen to what’s present and move at a pace that feels safe and supportive.

How does Psychotherapy support the mind–body connection?

Sometimes our bodies hold what our minds can’t explain. Through talk therapy, we explore patterns, beliefs, and emotional landscapes—while gently noticing how these also live in the body. It’s a space to reconnect your inner world with the signals of your nervous system.

How do I know if I should explore Psychotherapy, Breathwork, or both?

You don’t need to decide before we begin. Some people feel drawn to talk therapy and reflection, while others want to explore a more embodied approach through breathwork. Many find that a blend of both creates a deeper, more integrated healing experience.

We can discuss what feels most aligned for you and adapt as we go.

Breathwork

What if I’m more drawn to talking than to Breathwork?

That’s completely welcome.

Some people feel most at home with words, and others find clarity through conversation before moving into body-based work.

There’s no pressure to do anything outside your comfort—psychotherapy can be a powerful space in itself.

Do I need experience with Breathwork?

Not at all. Whether it’s your first time or you already have experience, I guide you through the practice in a way that feels gentle and accessible. Breathwork can be a powerful tool, but it’s always integrated at a pace that feels right for you.

What is a group breathwork session like?

Group sessions are safe, guided spaces where you’ll be led through a breathwork journey in a shared setting. There is no expectation to share or engage beyond what feels right for you. Many people find that the presence of others deepens their experience, offering a sense of connection and collective energy.

What will I experience during Breathwork?

Each session is different, but you can expect:

✔ A guided introduction to breathwork

✔ Breathing technique practice to mastery
✔ Time for personal intention-setting
✔ A structured breathwork session with music & sensory input
✔ Gentle integration time and debrief

How many sessions do I need?

There’s no fixed number—it really depends on what you’re bringing and what you’re hoping to explore. Some people come for short-term support around a specific challenge, while others choose to work together over a longer period of time for deeper, ongoing growth.

We’ll check in regularly to make sure the process continues to feel aligned, and you’re always welcome to pause, continue, or return as needed. The pace and duration are entirely yours to decide.

How do I book a session?
